A man from another time
Over 5300 years ago the Man was crossing the Tisa Yoke, in Val Senales (South Tyrol), when he was killed.
His body was naturally preserved in the glacier. Older than the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge, it is the result of a series of incredible coincidences. Ötzi lived in the Copper Age, a period which was part of the final phase of the Neolithic. He still used stone objects, but already had an innovative and precious copper axe. The technical knowledge of mining and metal working had recently arrived in Europe from Asia Minor. The first Age of Metals began with copper.
