In honor of the best trumpeter in the world.
In music too, it is not easy to establish who were the greatest in a given field: historical, cultural aspects of invention or innovation, legacy left, virtuosity are involved, which are then counterbalanced by personal taste, those that are definitely unquestionable.

Jazz is born in New Orleans, where the Mississippi, which has cut America in two for hundreds and hundreds of miles, ends its run. And it was in the city of Louisiana, on August 4, 1901, that one of the greatest trumpeter ever born: Louis Armstrong. Armostrong is often remembered for his performances, his exuberant "character", but we must never forget that we are talking about an extraordinary talent, a virtuoso of the trumpet, a great improviser, that led this instrument to obtain the role of solo instrument, and left a legacy from which have drawn numerous jazz musicians after him. Since 1990 he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The same can be said of Miles Davis. Born in 1926 along the Mississippi, he was probably the most influential jazz player ever, thanks to his ability to innovate and renew continuously, in a continuous melodic search, and more generally, artistic.
He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Enrico Rava, a musician from Trieste born in 1939, famous not only as a trumpeter but also as a composer. Rava is one of the greatest Italian jazz musicians ever, known and appreciated all over the world, especially thanks to his activity in the United States. Five years ago the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella named him Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, an honor among the most important.

The other Italian name is Paolo Fresu. Younger than Rava (he was born in 1961 in Sardinia), Paolo Fresu is among the best Italian jazzmen around, with many albums, high-level collaborations and scores. He has been part of many orchestras, both Italian (Auditorium Parco della Musica, Arena di Verona, RAI) and foreign, such as the French national jazz orchestra.
